Haven't shared a poem in a while...

Here is a new one I wrote called 'Purpose In The Pain.'

The goal is to encourage my friends who may be going through any difficulties in life.

I find that we all often share similar struggles in some way, shape, or form.

The fires of adversity have the makings to destroy us, but when we place our faith and trust in God, He can use them to transform us. Then when the work is complete, the fire that tried to consume us is transformed into a guiding light in our lives that we can then use to help others see in any darkness they may be going through.

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)

 This poem is titled 'Glorious Appearing,' and was written before bed last night.

It details the Christian journey from new birth to that glorious day when every tear will be wiped away.  It is a poem of hope and consolation in Christ for the work He began and will surely complete.

The journey may seem long, but take heart He is guiding and leading you and will never leave nor forsake you.

 Poetry Time

I call this one 'Trying Times'

I share this because it seems that I have had to go through so many insurmountable things in my life. I've had to encounter and overcome impossible odds at every turn, some with no end in sight...

This has challenged me. But to what end? 

Well, it has proven to transform my thinking and to line it up closer to that of God. 

In going through these difficulties, I have found that... 

-God has been faithful, even if what I am experiencing doesn't seem to prove it at the given moment (He has a plan and a purpose). 

-His love and care have been constant, even if life's curve balls attempt to get me to question or doubt that (which they often do). 

-He has led me through everything before, and I am confident that He will do it again, even if the timetable and the way it currently looks seems to have no end.

Life is not about amassing what the world calls success, but to enrichen ones faith in God and to trust your life into His perfect plan.

My intention in writing and sharing this is to help encourage others to find God in their struggles and to cling to Him.

 I was doing some writing last night as I lay awake thinking about my journey...

Meaning, purpose, and hope are very real, but not always easily attained. Sometimes there are very difficult choices and sacrifices that have to be made. 

Sometimes we may have to encounter difficulties that shake us to the very core and leave us breathless.

I am reminded of the lamps in King Solomon's Temple and how they were lit using nothing but the finest, pure olive oil. This was to ensure that the lamps burned clean and bright. If an impure oil was used the lamps would put off a black smudgy smoke while burning. 

But that olive didn't just randomly transform into pure olive oil, no, it had to undergo an extreme pressing process to remove all impurities.

I learned through my faith in Christ that regardless if I ever see or know exactly what God is doing in my life, if I consult Him and live by His will and ways He will always work it together for my good and the good of His overall plan for my life and those He wants me to reach.

As I think about the amazing work that God accomplished through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I am further reminded of His grace and power at work in the believer's heart, working through the greatest difficulties to purify their lives so that they can be used as precious lamps giving off the light of His glory and goodness.

I pray that God would bless you today and fill you with awe and wonder at His faithfulness through Christ to perfect that which concerns you. In Jesus name Amen! Much love always!

I wrote 'Purify' to describe the burning truth of trials and tribulations but also how God will use them to bring out the best in our lives....#TrustGod
