Poetry Time
I just wrote this one the other day and called it 'Walk Together.'
We all walk not knowing what a day may bring. It may bring blessings, or it may bring great trials and difficulties. Or, it could be a measure of both.
When trials do come, we question what it is that we did to cause such difficulties. We begin to doubt and maybe even question our very existence. And because deep down inside every human being, we all crave purpose and meaning, what one day brings as opposed to the other can be earth-shattering if we feel it has no purpose.
In the grand scheme of finding God’s will or purpose for our lives, we often stumble due to our own human inadequacies and lack of understanding making it hard to logically determine whether what has come into our lives is intended by God for His overall plan or if it is a cause of our own shortcomings or stumblings.
The purpose, I believe for this writing is to show the human condition in light of these things but also in another light to magnify the grace and goodness of God despite our best attempts at following Him. In some religions, the believer has to do a set of works or tasks to enter the favor of God and if said tasks or works are not completed they then lose that favor with God. The interesting thing about Christianity is that we do not have to earn anything because Jesus Christ paid it all in His blood on the cross at Calvary about 2000 years ago. So, through faith in what He accomplished, we can believe and have access to God directly without the need for worrying about our performance (true faith will still inspire within us the desire to do good with the reality that we can still fail and our pursuit. It’s all about learning and growing in Him).
In saying that and in keeping up with the writing I am sharing, it is important to understand that while we walk together, we receive the grace and goodness of God even in our own inadequacies. And because we didn’t have to do anything to earn this type of grace and goodness we then in turn walk in the same light that we received, but towards other's weaknesses as well. So as Jesus said, “Give as freely as you have received!”
You are never alone in this earthly battle because Jesus is always with you and so are many others He has placed in your life for such a time as this.
So in short, ‘Walk Together’ is all about the fact that no matter how inadequate or imperfect you feel, God Himself is with you and He loves you greatly and wants you to succeed at whatever His plan is for your life (no matter how unknown it may be from day to day). Not only is God with you, but He has crafted your life in such a way that He has just the right person to speak to you at just the right time to help you continue your journey of faith as well.
We are all unfinished and need the grace of God, but also need to realize that everyone is also unfinished and in need of the same grace.
I know this was very long for a social media post, but thank you for reading to the end. If you made it this far then this message is for you. God has a plan and a purpose for your life. It may be a dark season right now, but His light will surely see you through. Trust me I know and can relate. The season you are in may seem very dark and bleak, but God is working in you that which is pleasing in His sight. He is refining you as silver is refined because He has something in mind for your life somewhere way down the road that only you can accomplish. And there are going to be times when you want to feel like your life has a purpose. Just know this, purpose in God’s Kingdom goes way past feeling into the realm of straight faith. I say it like this because the purpose and exact impact your life may have on someone else or many others may never be seen by you. In fact, God could be using you at this very moment to reach someone else with the light He is shining in you and you may never even know it. God doesn’t always fill us in on all the details but just know He loves you and has a plan and purpose for your life. Keep trusting Him and keep the faith my friends. God bless you all! And Walk Together…
